Return to Laos, May 2007 (Part 2)
The next stop in our trip was Oudomxay. Actually, we did not have any experience in Oudomxai and the place is not really interesting for visitor. Maybe it’s a pit stop along the way from Luang Namtha to Pakbeng only. The next morning was spent to inspect some hotels in town, however, none was selected for our clients. Laos Inspection, May 2006 (Part 1)
Laos, officially ‘the Lao People’s Democratic Republic’, is a landlocked nation in Southeast Asia occupying the northwest portion of the Indochina’s peninsula. Laos is sharing borderlines with China and Myanmar (Northwest), Vietnam (East), Cambodia (South) and Thailand (West). Laos is a mountainous country, especially in the north, where peaks rise above 9,000 ft (2,800 m). Laos has a long history with the proud Kingdom of Lan Xang (Land or Million Elephants), which last form the 14th century to the 18th century. Laos is also a beautiful country with the thickly forested landscape consists mostly of rugged mountains. Its people are friendly and honest.
