Hyatt has been awarded Best Chain for Business Travel by the readers of DestinAsian for five consecutive year. Hanoi Craft Week 2010 draws 500 villages

 Hanoi Craft Week 2010 will take place from August 4-9 at the Friendship Cultural Palace in Hanoi with the participation of 500 craft villages.
Themed “A thousand years of quintessence” the fair is part of activities to celebrate the Thang Long-Hanoi millennium anniversary and the National Tourism Year in Hanoi, Luu Tien Long, Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Commerce, said at a press briefing in Hanoi on March 8.
In addition to promoting exports, developing and improving the products of Hanoi craft villages, the week will promote the traditional cultures of the villages over the past 1,000 historic years.

Temple steles win UNESCO documentary heritage status

 Eighty-two doctor laureate steles in Van Mieu (Temple of Literature) in Hanoi has become Vietnam’s second historical documentary heritage to be listed in the list of UNESCO’s Global Memory of the World Programme.
This was announced at the fourth general meeting of UNESCO’s Memory of the World Committee for Asia/Pacific in Macau, China, on March 9, said the Hanoi People’s Committee.
The UNESCO recognition is an important event for the capital city of Hanoi on the threshold of its 1,000th birthday.

Nautica luxury cruise ship docks in Halong Bay

 An American luxury cruise ship, the Nautica, docked at Cai Lan Port bringing 1,000 foreign tourists to the world heritage site of Halong Bay in the northern province of Quang Ninh for the first time on March 9.
During their stay in Vietnam, the tourists will visit the beautiful landscapes of Halong Bay, the capital city of Hanoi and the port city of Haiphong.
Halong Bay has so far this year welcomed several foreign cruise ships carrying thousands of holiday-makers.
Quang Ninh strives to welcome 5.2 million tourists, including 2.4 million foreign visitors this year.

Danang-Taipei air route to open

 Direct service between China’s Taipei and Danang, Vietnam will begin December 26, according to a representative from the route operator, Taiwan-based TransAsia Airways.
According to TransAsia Airways representative Yang Tiger on December 3, the airline will become the second foreign carrier conducting direct flights to Danang after Singapore’s Silk Air. It will operate two flights on Wednesday and Saturday every week, using Airbus 321-132 planes with 12 business-class seats and 70 coach seats. »Read More |
