1. Guides:
In Vientiane: Mr. Bunchay – a mature guide with warm smile. Always make sure everything is just right for us. We feel safe in his hands.
In Luang Prabang: Ms. Noy – a charming lady with soft voice. Sometimes we feel hard to hear her as she speaks a bit soft; however, she was a very good and informative guides on our visit.
In Siem Reap: Mr. Kim Has – our excellent guide who has a vast knowledge on Angkor wat temples. He also shares with us many thing about his life and work. We love him and was really said when saying goodbye to him.
In the Saigon: Mr. Ngoc – Ngoc was an enthusiasm and interesting tour guide. He talked and show us many things on our way from Saigon to Can to. He has a great sense of humour too and we’re very pleased with him.
In Hoi An and Hue: Mr. Quoc – Very good guide, excellent English. We love the bike ride with him to the vegetable village, very enjoyable.
In Hanoi and Ha Long Bay: Mr. Cuong – he was very funny and easy to talk with. His knowledge about hanoi and ha long was amazing. He answered all our questions without difficult. However, we wished he could share us more things on the way from Hanoi to ha long (like Ngoc did), rather than chatting with driver.
2. Accommodation:
In Vientiane: Settha Palace Hotel – a perfect place to stay in Vientiane with large colonial style rooms in modern setting. Restaurant, bar and breakfast were excellent. For sure that we will stay here again if we come back to Vientiane.
In Luang Prabang: La Residence Phou Vao Hotel – perfect hotel with amazing services. The rooms are spacious with lovely furnishings. This hotel is not located downtown, but there is a very efficient shuttle service, available whenever you want to go. Thanks Phoung to recommend it hotel rather than the Grand Luang Prabang as we first planned.
In Siem Reap: Raffles Grand Hotel D’Angkor – Magi and I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Our room was in excellent condition, the staffs were friendly and the service was outstanding. It was over all a great experience. However, the drinks were quite overpriced; but it was no problem.
In Saigon: Park Hyatt Hotel - Hyatt hotel is so beautiful and centrally located close to the main attractions. Our room was very spacious and nicely decorated. The whole building is very elegant and the staff very professional and nice. Breakfast was the best of the whole trip.
In Hoi An: Victoria Beach Resort – we were a bit disappointed with the hotel. The suite we stayed in was nicely located and clean but the design was odd. The hotel’s restaurant was very pricey and the foods were not really good. We should follow Phuong’s advice of staying at the Nam Hai resort. Sorry Phoung! L
In Hue: La Residence Hotel – no doubt that it’s the best hotel in hui. Our Colonial Suite was amazing with Riverview. We did not have chance to eat at the hotel restaurant so we will come back and stay here again and try their food.
In Hanoi: Sofitel Metropole Hotel – great hotel, great location, great services and great rooms. Magi and I love this hotel and you can be sure that we will be back soon. Highly recommend this hotel.
In Ha Long: Princess Junk – amazing!! Thanks Phuong very much for your recommendation to take this private junk. We enjoyed every moment of the trip. The birthday cake on Magi’s birthday was a value added. Just one problem, the 2-day cruise was too short. Next time, we will take the 3-day tour. The seafood was delicious and we love the food decoration made by the chief.
3. Transport (Land, water and air):
Excellent cars and safe drivers. Laos airlines services was really good, even better than Vietnam airlines.
4. Restaurants:
Overall, we love Vietnamese food. Cambodia and Laos food were not really good as we expected.
5. Design and management of your tour:
Phuong – you did an amazing job in putting together this trip for us. As you can tell, we had an amazing trip and certainly appreciated all that you did to make this a most memorable trip. There was not one problem in the whole trip. The management of the trip was wonderful and we thank you so very much. We wish that you could make the arrangements for all of our trips!
