A short 4-day tour exploring Pakse, Wat Phou and Done Khone in the 4000 Islands

Day 1: Pakse arrival/Tadlo (D, G)
On arrival at Pakse, you will be met and taken by road to Saravanh province via Tateng with a tea break en-route. You will then visit the spectacular twin waterfalls Tad Fan and another ethnic minority group of Alak, Nge, Katu. You will spend the night in Tad Lo.
Day 2: Tadlo/Pakse/Wat Phou/Don Khone (B, L, D, G)
After an early breakfast, you will head out towards Khong Island with visit Pha Suam waterfall and stroll around the ethnic minority villages of Lao Teung. You will then continue driving by road via Pakse town crossing the Mekong by ferry to visit the fascinating pre-angkorian ruins of Wat Phu, one of Southeast Asia's most dramatically situated temples. Continue the journey by motorboat to Don Khong, the largest island in the South Mekong river region known as the 4000 islands, one of the most scenic areas in Laos. Overnight in Don Khong. |

Day 3: Don Khone/Khong Island/Pakse (B, L, D, G)
After breakfast, you will take a pleasant long tail boat tour of the Don Khone area, which takes you to visit the remains of the French period, Liphi Waterfall or "the Corridor of the Devil". Back to the mainland and you will visit the Khone Phapheng waterfall, which is considered the largest waterfall by volume in the South East Asia. You will then drive to Pakse where you will spend the night.
Day 4: Pakse Departure (B, G)
After breakfast, you will be transferred to airport for your departure flight. Tour ends. |
