Located in ThanhHoaProvince and 180 km away from Hanoi, Pu Luong Nature Reserve is an ideal place for adventure travels thanks to its outstanding beauty scenery, cultural interest and high biodiversity value. The region is blessed with rich forest, limestone panoramas, magnificent rice terraces and breathtaking scenery.
Day 1: Arrival at Hanoi (D, GP)
Arriving at Noi Bai airport in Hanoi, you’ll be greeted and driven to your hotel. After a short rest, you will have a cyclo ride around the bustling streets of Hanoi. In the evening, you will enjoy a water puppet show – a unique art of the rural Northern Vietnam culture. After the show, you’ll have dinner at a good local restaurant in a restored French colonial building. You will spend the night in Hanoi.
Day 2: Hanoi/Mai Chau/Pu Luong (B, L, D, G)
In the morning, you will take a 4-hour drive to Pu Luong Natural Reserve via Mai Chau passing beautiful scenery along the road. After lunch in a local family in Pom Coong village in Mai Chau, you will take another 22 km drive into the reserve where you will begin your trek which is around 3 hours. Arriving in Hang Village, home to Thai ethnic minority in the late afternoon, you will have dinner and spend the night in a traditional house built on stilts.
Day 3: Hang Village/Kho Muong Village (B, L, D, G)
After a local breakfast with the family, you will trekk to Kho Muong Village, which is around 6 hours on a rocky path running through jungle. Lunch will be served in a local family along the way. After lunch, you will continue trekking through several Thai villages before arriving Kho Muong Village where you will spend the night.
Day 4: Kho Muong Village/Cao Hoong Village (B, L, D, G)
Today, you will have a full day trek as you climb to the Pu Luong range. En-route, you will pass through a number of small hamlets and minority villages. After 3 hr of light ascent, you will descend to the village of Cao Hoong, a village of Thai ethnic minority people, where you will spend the night in local home.
Day 5: Cao Hoong Village/Cao Village (B, L, D, G)
Today, the trek through the verdant countryside today will take around 6 hrs. The trek path runs uphill and downhill through forest, rice terraces and scenic villages. On the way, you may see local farmers working on rice paddies and children going to school. Lunch break will be in a local village. You will spend the night in Cao Village.
Day 6: Cao Village/Canh Nang Town/Mai Chau (B, L, D, G)
After breakfast, you will trek toward Ma River. After 2-hour trekking, you will arrive Pho Doan Town where you will be able to see a local market. You will then be driven back to Mai Chau for a late lunch. The rest of the day will be free to wander around the village. You will spend the night in Pom Coong Village.
Day 7: Mai Chau/Hanoi (B, L, G)
Get up early in the morning to enjoy fresh air of the countryside; you’ll be free to take a stroll in Mai Chau Valley to observe daily life activities of the local people. After that, your car will drive you back to Hanoi with lunch on the way. Arrive in Hanoi in the late afternoon; you will be dropped off at your hotel. Tour ends.
