An incredible honeymoon tour covering Luang Prabang, Xieng Khoang, Vientiane, Don Khone Island and Pakse

Day 1: Luang Prabang arrival (D, G)
Arriving in Luang Prabang International Airport, you’ll be met and driven to your hotel. After a short rest, you’ll be free to stroll around the city’s Night Market offering handmade textiles woven by local people and ethnic minority communities. You will spend the night in Luang Prabang.
Day 2: Luang Prabang city (B, L, G)
Today, you will visit the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong, Wat Visoun, Wat Mai temple and the ‘Day Market’.
After lunch, you will climb up to the top of Mount Phousi provides a panorama of the ancient royal city and the Mekong River. You’ll spend the night in Luang Prabang.
    
Day 3: Luang Prabang/Kuangsi Waterfall/Luang Prabang (B, L, G)
This is the morning when you need your alarm clock! Early in the morning after a sustaining beverage and a small snack, you’ll witness one of Laos’ unique ceremonies – the daily ‘alms giving’ ritual of saffron-clad monks walking in a long line holding black bowls to receive offerings from local people. The traditional gift is a handful of ‘sticky rice’, but nowadays money is equally acceptable.
You’ll then return to your hotel for a proper breakfast. Afterwards, you’ll be driven to the Kuangsi Waterfalls, a serene beauty spot where you can splash around in the pools or stroll the forest paths. From there, you’ll return to Luang Prabang and continue to Ban Phanom, a well-known weaving village. It’s quite commercial, but if you look carefully you can pick up some authentic hand-woven material – they make good souvenirs. Returning to Luang Prabang in the late afternoon, you will be free. You will spend the night in Luang Prabang.
Day 4: Luang Prabang/Xieng Khoang (B, G)
After breakfast, you will visit the National Museum at the former Royal Palace, which displays a lovely collection of artifacts and the Central Market.
After that, you will drive 306km uphill a mountain surrounded by wonderful natural scenery to Xieng Khouang, which was devastated by American bombing between 1964 and 1973. Upon arrival, you will visit the Plain of Jars, an impressive archaeological site where hundreds of large stone jars are scattered all over the plateau. If time permits, you will see the old capital of Muang Khoun and the nearby villages, home to the Hmong hill tribe people. They have an interesting local culture and a colorful history. You will spend the night in a hotel.
Day 4: Xieng Khoang/Vientiane (B, G)
Following breakfast, you we visit the Central Market. After you will have free time to explore the town further before catching our flight back to Vientiane. After checking into the hotel, you will visit the impressive Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge and the Buddha Park, a a scattered enchanting collection of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures on the Mekong Riverside meadow, close to the Friendship Bridge. There are approximately 200 religious images dating back over 500 years, which were created by a mysterious monk spreading his philosophy on life and revealing his ideas about the universe. A spectacular view of over the Mekong River at sunset is a perfect way to finish the day. You will spend the night in Vientiane.
Day 5: Vientiane City Tour (B, L, G)
After breakfast, you will visit the major sights of the capital; including the oldest Wat Sisaket, the temple with thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. On the way to Lao’s national precious heritage, the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa, you will stop enroute to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is well known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. Your overnight accommodation will be in Vientiane.
Day 6: Vientiane/Pakse/Don Khone Island (B, L, D, G)
After breakfast, you will catch an early flight to Pakse. On arrival, you will be driven on the National Road No. 13th south to Champassak and to visit the fascinating pre-angkorian ruins of Wat Phu, one of Southeast Asia's most dramatically situated temples - Wat Phu which is recognized by UNESCO in 2001, this wonderful archeological site of Khmer civilization dates back to the 10th century, predating the famous Angkor Wat in Cambodia. After that, you will continue our journey by long tail boat to Don Khong, the largest island in the South Mekong river region known as the 4000 islands, one of the most scenic areas in Laos. You will spend the night in Don Khone Island.
    
Day 7: Don Khone Island Surrounding (B, L, D, G)
After an early breakfast, you will explore the local villages of Ban Khone, where you will see an array of relics from the French colonial era and retrace the old colonial past, including old French colonial buildings and the remnants of the first Lao railway with it’s locomotive. You will then continue discovering the 4000 islands area by boat at our leisure to visit the Liphi waterfall, one of the most beautiful waterfalls marking the end of Lao border to Cambodia, also known as the Samphamith. With lucks, you will see the rare freshwater Irrawaddy Mekong dolphin at Ban Hang Khone. You will return to Ban Nakasang and drive to famous waterfalls of Khone Phapeng, the largest waterfall in South East Asia, known as Niagara of the east. Your overnight will be in Don Khone Island.
Day 8: Don Khone Island/Tadlo/Pakse (B, L, G)
Upon leaving Done Khone Island, you will continue our journey towards Tadlo, through Boloven plateau. The Boloven Plateau is known for its cooler temperature being located high above the Mekong Valley. A trip to the plateau provides a refreshing break from the heat and allows you to observe the cultivation of rich coffee, tea, cardamom, bananas, and other crops that can be seen en route. This trip gives visitors the chance to venture off the beaten track and to discover some of the lesser-known areas of Laos, exploring the wild beauty of this southern region. Upon arrival at Tad Lo waterfall, you will visit the villages of Alak, Nge, and Katu, populated by ethnic minority groups. Returning to Pakse by late evening, you will spend the night in a hotel.
Day 9: Pakse departure (B, DP)
Free time until transferred to the airport for departure flight. Tour ends.
