10-day tour visiting Luang Prabang, Pakbeng, Houeisay in Laos and Chiang Khong, Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai and Bangkok in Thailand

Day 1: Luang Prabang arrival (D, G)
Arriving in Luang Prabang International Airport, you’ll be met and driven to your hotel. After a short rest, you’ll be free to stroll around the city’s Night Market offering handmade textiles woven by local people and ethnic minority communities. You will spend the night in Luang Prabang.
Day 2: Luang Prabang city (B, L, G)
Today, you will visit the the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong, Wat Visoun, Wat Mai temple and the ‘Day Market’.
After lunch, you will climb up to the top of Mount Phousi provides a panorama of the ancient royal city and the Mekong River. You’ll spend the night in Luang Prabang. |

Day 3: Luang Prabang/Pak Ou Cave/Pakbeng (L, D, G)
After breakfast, you will sail upriver Mekong, you will pass areas of un-spoilt forest with little villages along the riverbanks and perhaps the odd elephant or two with his mahout. During the cruise, you will visit the Pak-Ou caves, where thousands of Buddha statues are stored. You will also visit a fishing village and a rice winemaking village and perhaps even taste some of the infamous beverage known as Lao Rice wine. You arrive in Pakse mid-afternoon and transfer to your hotel. Upon arrival in Pakbeng, you will visit a local market; experience daily lifestyle of colorful hill tribe traders exchanges their goods. You will spend the night in a beautiful lodge overlooking the Mekong River. |

Day 4: Pakbeng/Houeisay/Chiang Khong/Chiang Rai (B, L, D, G)
In the morning, you will take the second leg of the cruise to Houeisay. After lunch in a local restaurant, you will go through immigration in Laos side and cross the Mekong River to Chiang Khong in Thailand where your Thailand guide will be waiting for you at the immigration point. After completing border formalities, you will have a car waiting to take you to the famous Golden Triangle where the border of Thai-Laos and Myanmar meet. You will then visit the Opium Hall Museum. In the late afternoon, you will be driven to your hotel to check in. You will spend the night in Chiang Rai.
Day 5: Chiang Rai/Chiang Mai (B, L, G)
After breakfast, we excursion be road heading to Chiang Mai. You will drive along the winding with stop to visit White Temple (Wat Rongkhun). Then continue to Chiang Mai. After checking into hotel, you will drive west towards the famous Doi Suthep Mountain and embark on a walk leading us to Wat Prathat Temple near the summit. In the afternoon, you will drive to the neighboring villages of Sankampaeng and Borsarng to see the various cottages industries including silk weaving, wood carving, silver ware and umbrellas making. You will spend the night in Chiang Mai. |

Day 6: Chiang Mai Elephant Safari (B, L, G)
After breakfast, you will drive to north of Chiang Mai route to Mae Taman Elephant Camp, which is 56 km northwards of Chiang Mai. Enjoy the spectacular scenery along the way. The idea of this trip is to see the demonstration of how trained elephants are used as working animals in teak forests includes elephant bathing in the river, working in the jungle, dragging and pushing logs, and responding commands. Enjoy an experience ride on the elephant for one hour along the trails through the jungle, made a stop at Lisu Hilltribe Village. For the truly adventurous! Continue an ox-cart riding back to the camp where lunch is served. After lunch, an experience trip by taking Bamboo Raft along Mae Taeng River for 45 minutes. Then, visit Orchid Nursery to see a large collection of more than 50 different types of colorful exotic year-round-bloom orchids. After taking great pleasure at the Orchid Nursery, return to the hotel for overnight accommodation. |

Day 7: Chiang Mai/Bangkok (B, G)
Free time until transferred to the airport for noon flight to Bangkok. Arriving in Bangkok, you’ll be met and driven to your hotel. The rest of the day will be free.
Day 8: Grand Palace City Temples Canals (B, L, G)
Today, you will visit the Royal Grand Palace, the magnificent Wat Phra Kaew, the Wat Pho. After that, you will take a long tail boat and cruise along the Chao Phraya River and observe the fantastic views of the local life. Along the way, you will visit the Wat Arun, the temple of Dawn. Lunch will be at a floating restaurant.
In the afternoon, you will have a visit to the Wat Traimit before driving back to the hotel. You will spend the night in Bangkok.
Day 9: Bangkok/Ayutthaya/Bangkok (B, L, G)
After breakfast, you’ll visit the Summer Palace before being transferred to Ayuthaya - Thailand's capital from the mid-14th century and to the late 18th century – to visit historical sites which are now mostly ruins.
After that, you will be driven to the pier for cruising down the Chao Phraya River with buffet lunch on board. On the way, you will see the beautiful scenery the both sides of the river. Back to the hotel in the late afternoon, you’ll spend the night in Bangkok.
Day 10: Bangkok departure (B, GP)
Free time until transferred to the airport for your departure flight. Tour ends. |
